Nadine Coyle

Nadine Coyle was born June 15, 1985, in Derry, Northern Ireland. Blessed with the gift of a golden voice, she first rose to national prominence in 2001 when she surpassed more than 5000 participants to be included on the Irish version of Popstars. There was just one problem: Nadine was only 16 years old at the time and the show rules clearly states that all competitors must be at least 18. Nadine accidentally revealed her real age shortly after making it to the final round and the producers were left with no other choice but to remove her from the competition.

Down, but certainly not out, Nadine Coyle received a shot at redemption the following year when ITV1 held an audition for their new reality show Popstars: The Rivals. The entertaining program pitted an all-male group named One True Voice against an all-female group named Girls Aloud in a fierce competition to create a hit single in time for the Christmas season. Nadine’s stirring performances made her a cinch for the all-girl group and she was eventually joined by fellow members Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, and Sarah Harding.

The girls bonded quickly and easily defeated their male counterparts thanks to the enormous success of their first single, "Sound of the Underground." In fact, the song proved to be so popular it stayed at the No. 1 spot in the UK charts for an incredible four weeks.

Encouraged by the success of the song, Girls Aloud headed in the new studio to record their first album, Sound of the Underground. Released on May 26, 2003, the disc has sold more than 320000 copies worldwide through the key songs "Girls Allowed" and "Life Got Cold."

The girls received even more rave reviews the following year with What Will the Neighbours Say? Released on November 24, 2004, the ambitious sophomore effort debuted at No. 6 on the UK album charts and later reached platinum certification. Equally importantly, the disc received a mountain of praise from publications like The Guardian, which was hailed as "funny, clever, immediate" and "richly inventive."

After the successful live tour, the girls headed back to the studio to record their third album. Released on December 5, 2005, Chemistry became the most critically acclaimed album of the bands, with respected media such as The Guardian, NME and Top Of The Pops including it in their "best of year-end" album charts. The disc was also popular with the group's faithful fans who made Chemistry Girls Aloud's third platinum sales record.

Nadine Coyle and Girls Aloud hit the charts again in September 2006 with the release of their first greatest hits compilation, The Sound of Girls Aloud. The album debuted at No. 1 on the charts of the United Kingdom and sold an impressive 84000 copies in its first week.

The girls removed all rumours of an imminent breakup in 2007 with the release of Tangled Up. Cheryl Cole has called the album the group's "best effort yet," and sales of this impressive 12-songs compilation have been predictably brisk throughout the UK.

Although Nadine Coyle is still an active member in the group, she and her family live across the pond in California, where she is building on her second career as an actress.

Sexiness

Nadine Coyle may very well be the most beautiful woman in the United Kingdom. Just do not tell her that. "My legs are too skinny," she insists. "They are not attractive." Although Nadine may not be a fan of her gams, the rest of Britain is, as evidenced by a new national survey that identified her as having the best legs in pop. In fact, Nadine's fabulously long, colt-like legs are so famous in her native Britain that Gillette has repeatedly requested her to become a spokesmodel for their line of razors for women. And Nadine has used her legs to her advantage in attracting A-list boyfriends like Derry City midfielder Neil McCafferty, Brothers & Sisters actor Dave Annable and Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe. Those men, and others, are in for a treat as Nadine Coyle continues to shape her delicious body. “I’m trying to put some weight on my legs and make my bum bigger,” she declares. We can’t wait to see the results.

Success

It’s easy to forget that Nadine Coyle is just over 20. After all, this delectable Derry native is already one of the most influential artists in Britain thanks to the overwhelming success of Girls Aloud. Since joining the group in 2002, she has helped guide the all-female quintet to 16 consecutive top 10 singles, 4 platinum albums and sales in excess of 4.2 million. Although Nadine could never have predicted just how many albums the group would sell, she never doubted that Girls Aloud would be successful. “We didn’t join the band to be one-hit wonders,” she explains. “We always planned to work hard and do our best. We’re really lucky and appreciative, though. Ninety percent of the success is down to the music. People seem to like it -- thank God.”
