Anna Faris
Anna Faris is known for her recurring roles in the Scary Movie film series as well as her lead role in The Hot Chick.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 29, 1976, Anna Kay Faris wasted no time immersing herself in stage work, as she got her first job at age 9 at the Seattle Repertory Theatre. As she was settled in the Northwest from a young age, Faris' natural choice for higher education was the University of Washington, where she studied English literature.
After getting a chance to film a short for the Seattle Film Festival, Anna trashed her goal of moving to London following graduation and instead relocated to Los Angeles. With only two small film roles to her credit, she had little to go on except for raw talent when searching for work in Hollywood. Luckily, Faris' good looks and skills were perfect for the people behind Scary Movie, the horror film spoof that did surprisingly well at the box office.
After scoring the role of Cindy Campbell in 2000, Faris returned in 2001 for Scary Movie 2, and was then seen in 2002's The Hot Chick and 2003's Lost in Translation (stealing the spotlight from Scarlett Johansson). With little worry of typecasting, she signed on to do Scary Movie 3 (2003) and Scary Movie 4 (2006) before portraying her first true dramatic character in 2005's Brokeback Mountain, directed by Ang Lee.
Anna Faris has also been seen in Just Friends (2005), My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel (2007), Mama's Boy (2007) and Smiley Face (2007). She also appeared several times in the TV show Entourage in 2007.
She'll be appearing in Kids in America and I Know What Boys Like in 2008.
